Add people

You don’t need to know a platform’s URL format. Copy whatever the app gives you, paste it into Homestead, and check the result.

Add someone

Select Add (the centre button on phones, or in the sidebar).
Paste into the box: one link, a share message, an @handle, or many of them on separate lines. Homestead starts reading as soon as you stop typing.
Check each row Homestead found:
- Platform. For a bare @handle, Homestead guesses and asks you to confirm.
- Who is this? A new person (the name is filled in when Homestead can find it), an existing person, or “Same as above” to give one person several accounts.
- Circles. Where they go, such as Family.
Select Add. A message confirms how many people were added.

Rows Homestead couldn’t read are listed under “Couldn’t read” so nothing disappears quietly. Accounts you already have are marked “Already added”.

Douyin and Xiaohongshu share buttons give you a block of text with a short link inside. Paste the whole thing:

Homestead follows the v.douyin.com short link, which leads to a video, and picks up the name 小厨娘 from the text. If someone in your Homestead already has that name, it suggests them. Because the link points at a video rather than a profile, your agent looks up the creator’s profile afterwards.

Here it follows the xhslink.com link to the Xiaohongshu profile and reads the name too.

A bare 抖音号 or 小红书号 without a link, or a link to a single Instagram or Douyin post, can’t be turned into a profile on the spot. Homestead adds the account and asks your agent to look up the profile; the row says “An agent will find the full profile”.

The notes under each row

Short links and safety

Homestead only follows short links on hosts the platform registry lists (such as v.douyin.com and xhslink.com), up to 5 redirects with a 5 second timeout, and only to that platform’s own hosts. Private and local network addresses are always refused.

Other ways to add

Share to Homestead. Install the web app as a PWA on Android Chrome and share text to it. The add screen opens with the text filled in.
The phone app’s share sheet. Available on main (M-05)
Your agent. Tell it “add @lin.cooks on Instagram to Family”. See Agents.
